This craft night is aimed at those who want to learn a new craft with a loved one. As my most accessible workshop, this event is aimed at youngsters and their grown-ups. This does not stop any age from coming along – it’s a simple craft that can be done by any age. No prior skill is required, so it’s perfect for parents who want to support crafty teens but have no idea where to start.

6:45 pm – 7:15 pm
We’ll explore the history of the craft and how it works. If you don’t understand anything, just wave and I’ll explain more. I’ll likely ask how you learn best so I know what to highlight – this might be hands-on elements, more talking, more text, more learning as you go – we’ll adapt it and work it out together. If you have any specific access needs, let me know in advance, and I’ll make sure I’m prepared! We’ll have paper and markers on the table, but feel free to bring your own quiet activity that helps you concentrate.
7:15 pm – 8:15 pm
Craft time! I’ll explain how to do the craft and then let you have a go! We’ll start with the different first steps as a group and then I’ll come and check how each person’s getting on to make sure everyone understands. Once everyone’s got the hang of it feel free to ask me any questions about what we’ve learnt or what else I do.
8:15 pm – 8:30 pm
We’ll make sure everyone’s at a point where they can take their craft home. I’ll share what other Heritage, History & Her events are coming up. Then the event draws to a close and you leave – I always want to leave time for people to ask individual questions and not feel like you’re being rushed off.
