Freelance Heritage Practitioner

Making the past relatable and understandable through research, community engagement & workshops.

A deep desire to keep learning and getting involved in projects led to the founding of ‘Heritage, History & Her‘, a business and website that combines my academic learning and practical experience to produce content and experiences that make research findings accessible. My work brings findings and research to life through engagement, living history, theatrical development, interpretation and content creation. Inclusivity and diversity are the core of what I do, with each project personalised to the client.

Content

My content focuses on identity, the heritage sector, social and cultural history, and historical making. It’s about sharing complex ideas and nuanced understandings of the past with the public today.

I remain a lifelong student, learning from others’ experiences and knowledge, and I would love to collaborate.

Coming soon – subscription programme on how to do history yourself.

Where do you start to uncover more about that story your grandad referenced? Where do you find old maps or historic images? A big part of the fun is in the discovery – I want to allow people the chance to access this directly. This offer will be hosted on the 3H Substack.

Workshops

My community engagement workshops look at how many modern identities haven’t been ‘invented in the last 20 years’ but those with relatable experiences have existed throughout history – especially those traditionally excluded, like LGBTQ+ and Neurodivergent. These workshops aim to encourage engagement with history, helping people learn and develop their confidence when they see themselves represented in a positive light.

Collaboration

I’m keen to work with different communities to create something in collaboration.

I also offer research projects for individuals and organisations, talks, interpretation and community engagement work.
